Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller on our 2024 Ram 1500. Now this is gonna be a really easy way if you don't have a factory brake controller, to add one to your Ram so you can start towing a trailer with brakes. Let's check it out. Now the way this works is the brake controller will plug into your seven pole, and the trailer will plug into the end of the brake controller, and then this will pair up using Bluetooth to the app on your phone where you can control settings and have your manual override. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2016 Ram 1500- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look and installing the Tow-Pro Liberty proportional brake controller on a 2016 Ram 1500. Now, this is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed and you can see, it takes up very little real estate. And in fact, we're able to find a nice little pocket here and it's gonna be super accessible for the driver to actually adjust and manually override on the brakes. And that's gonna be really great because normal brake controllers kinda sit down here where your knees are, and generally you just kinda bump them when getting in and then sometimes reaching down to actually do the manual override can kinda be cumbersome. And that's the great part about the Redarc is small space but also very easy to use. more

So there's tons of electric trailer brake controllers out there on the market. This certainly isn't the only one to choose from. However, this one is very unique in the fact that it's wireless. Most of your traditional brake controllers are going to plug in to a port under the dash or if you don't have that port, in some instances, you have to hardwire them into the vehicle, and that requires a lot of modifications to the vehicle. more

Basically with a time delayed system it was pre programmed when your brakes would engage so you'd hit the brake in your vehicle there might be a pause before the brakes on your trailer actually engage.With the proportional controller we don't have to worry about that, if we hit our brakes on our truck our brakes are gonna start being applied and they're gonna be applied in proportion to how we're braking in our truck. When we hit the brakes hard they're gonna apply the brakes more heavily, if we hit the brakes lightly it's gonna sense that and it's gonna apply the brakes more lightly. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Ram 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Proportional Trailer Brake Controller for one to four axles, part number 90885. Now, to help us in our installation, we're going to be using the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adaptor for trailer brake controllers, part number 3023-P.Here's our Prodigy P2 installed and what it looks like. Now, our Prodigy P2 is a proportional brake controller, which means it's going to apply the brakes in the same intensity at the same time that it senses our vehicle slowing down. That's because it has an internal inertia sensor that's going to detect the deceleration of our vehicle. Opposed to time delay brake controllers, which are just going to have a slight time delay, and they're going to slowly ramp up the power going to your brakes until it reaches the maximum.Now, the one thing that I really like about the Prodigy P2 is that since it is proportional, if we're at a stoplight, we don't want to brake to the maximum power because we're not moving. We don't need that much power going to our brakes. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Ram 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2017 Ram 1500 we'll be having a look at and installing the Hopkins agility trailer brake controller, part number HM47294. To ease our installation we'll be using the Hopkins plugin simple custom wiring adapter for trailer brake controller, part number HM53056.Here's what our brake controller looks like installed. We've already hooked up to our trailer and we get a nice little red indicator light right here to show that we have a proper connection and everything's functioning properly. The reason you're going to want a brake controller is if you have electric brakes on your trailer. You need to have a way to operate them and this brake controller here gives you that ability at a very cost effective price.What sets this brake controller apart from others on the market is that this is a proportional brake controller which activates immediately and gives you smooth and equal stops as opposed to time delay controllers, which there is no even braking. It's either on or off depending on how much power you have set to your brakes through the controller. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2017 Ram 2500 we're going to be taking a look at, and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195. Now we're going to be installing this in conjunction with 3024-P, which is a Tekonsha plug in wiring adapter for electric brake controllers. So here's what our brake controller looks like fully installed. Now this is a proportional brake controller, which means that it's going to apply the same amount of pressure and force to our trailer brakes at the same time that we're applying our brakes to our vehicle. What's really nice about it being a proportional brake controller is that when we're not moving, and we're not slowing down, say if we're at a stoplight, it's not going to apply any brakes to our trailer, saving our brakes on our trailer from wearing out prematurely. It's only going to apply our brakes when the internal sensor inside of our brake controller senses that we're slowing down. Now if we come to our arrow buttons over here, this is going to be for our gain control and our max power. more

Its part number is 90885. To make our install easier, we're also going to be using part number 3024-P. That's going to be our Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter for the electronic brake controllers. Now, the Prodigy P2 is a proportional brake controller, which is designed to work for one up to four axles. Today on our 2017 Ram 1500, we'll be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195, in conjunction with the Tekonsha wiring adapter, part number 3024-P. Here's what our brake controller looks like installed. As you can see, it's nice and clean and installation, tucked up nicely underneath our dash, but yet still easy to reach while we're driving down the road. We have several different controls on it. On the bottom, we have our manual override switch. This will alow us to activate our trailer brakes without applying our brakes in our truck, so if our trailer starts to step out of line on us, we can slow a bit down and get it back straight behind us by applying the brakes. We have our gain adjustment switches here, to adjust our power output for our brakes. more

Today on our 2017 Ram 1500, we'll be installing the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller, part number 39510. To ease our installation we'll be using the Tekonsha Wiring Adaptor, part number 3024-P. This controller is adjustable. We have our gain knob over here to adjust the intensity, how much power is going to our trailer brakes. Now, we can set our initial setting on our brakes with our gain all the way back. We'll slide the manual override over and we'll dial it up until we get a dim orange color. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Ram 1500 TK90160- Video
Today, in our 2017 RAM 1500, we will be installing the Tekonsha Primus IQ trailer brake controller, part number TK90160, in conjunction with the Tekonsha wiring adapter, part number 3024-P. Here's what our brake controller looks like installed. You can see it's a nice compact unit that's easily tucked up underneath our dash, but yet, still within easy reach while we're driving for our manual override here, our gain adjustment knob off to the left side, and then our boost control button here, or we can increase the boost level for our extra braking assist when we need it. We have three different level settings for that, one, two, three, and then off. Reengage your manual override, we can apply the brakes on our trailer without applying the brakes on our truck. This will allow us to bring the trailer back in line behind us if it starts to step out a little sideways. Now, the reason that you want a brake controller on your truck is if you're towing a trailer that has electric brakes, you need to have a way to control them. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2015 Ram 2500- Video
Today we're going to be reviewing and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller, which control one to four axles for a proportional braking system, part number 90195, on a 2015 Ram 2500. This is a proportional brake controller, so it will sense how hard you're hitting the brakes, and send the correct amount of power back to the trailer, as opposed to a time delay braking system, which sends power back to the trailer once you've hit your brakes, and doesn't let off until you release your brakes. This will give you much smoother braking with your trailer. Over here, this up button, changes your trailer gain. If you need more power going to the trailer breaks, it can provide that for you. The down button will lower the power going to the brakes. You can set it at whatever your trailer requires. Up here, in the top right corner, we've got the boost button. more

Today on our 2015 RAM 3500 we're going to be taking a look at and installing a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller for 1 to 4 axles, part number 90195. In conjunction, we're going to be also installing the Tekonsha plug-in wiring adapter for electric trailer controllers for a RAM, part number 3024-P. Now here's what it's going to look like once we have it installed. Right now we have our tester hooked on the back, so it's going to show us our amount of braking power. You take your manual switch and run it up, you'll see it come up. One of the biggest differences between this one and some other ones we sell is the five different setting parameters you can have for different trailers or different operators. It's going to give you a little bit more customization for your trailers or your operators. You're going to have three separate boost levels, which your boost is going to control your aggressiveness of how fast your brakes come on in your trailer, opposed to how they come on in your vehicle. more

If we turn it all the way to the right, it's going to be at full power; all the way to the left, minimal power.
